Setting: Dining table laid with healthy food, while your kid is eagerly waiting to dig into it.

Mummy: Baby, food is here! Let’s eat.

Kid: Wow mummy!  I love this. Slurrp!

Voila! Food finished!

Trrrriiinnngg Trriiiinnngg! It’s wake up time mummy! Dream over!

Honestly speaking, making kids eat everything that you make,  that too in a jiffy is stuff that dreams are made of. At least for me. Yes, I’m blessed with a fussy and picky eater. She can throw every possible tantrum to avoid food. So, as a mom I have to be smart enough to keep experimenting with my recipes and ingredients and hide as much nutrition as I can in my child’s diet. I’m sure all you moms would relate to this everyday struggle.  And I’m also sure that even you must be having your own tricks to fool these little monsters into eating all the nutrients laden food that you make.

If you check out my twitter timeline. you would know that I was recently invited to a cook along session organised by Hershey’s, where celebrated chef Rakhee Vaswani whipped up some smart magic using Hershey’s syrups to give a yummy twist to otherwise boring recipes. Wanna know what did we make to create #EverydayHappinessWithHersheys.

Ganpati spl: Nariyal Laddoos modak
Ganpati spl: Nariyal Laddoos modak

I am a Delhiite but this post is not about stuff I love about my city. In fact, it is about one of the few facets of Mumbai (my current home) that I really adore. Ganesh Chaturthi is not celebrated in such a magnanimous way in Delhi. My first memories of the festival date back to my childhood, when our Maharashtrian neighbours would invite us for the aarti every year. The chants of ‘Jai dev jai dev’ would fill the air and we would eagerly wait for the prasad, which comprised of modaks and coconut and sugar mixture.
