Part 2 of H’s Very Hungry Caterpillar Party is way to happening than the Part 1. Here’s a sneak peak…
Photo Booth & Photo Props at The Very Hungry Caterpillar Theme Birthday Party
Just as guests entered, we asked them to write their wishes for H in her keepsake book. Getting that printed was a task! Soon they were given these jiggly wiggly Antennae hairbands and other props in hand, they happily posed on the Photo Booth that was painted by yours truly! Wielding a brush is always a pleasure! What joy was it to see not just tiny caterpillars but also the grown up uncles and aunties posing as caterpillars. Thanks for being a sport guys!
Food & Dessert Table
Food was taken care of by the guys at Coco Bar, where the party was organised. Must say, they did a good job! However, for the little caterpillars, I had made cutesy butterflies using gems and pipe cleaner. Since the caterpillar ate Lollypops and chocolates, I made some Marshmallow lollypops too. Don’t miss the butterfly cut outs on them! Hand-cut and hand-inserted in the skewers. The chocolates were wrapped up and they said, “On Saturday he ate a Chocolate.”
The Party Favours!
Believe me this is the most exciting part of a Birthday party for the little guests after the cake. If these two are in place, don’t even bother about the rest. So, hunting out the right return gifts that are useful as well as gel with the theme was not a cake walk. But as Shah Rukh Deva once said, “Agar kisi cheez ko puri shiddat se chaho…toh puri kayanaat usse aapse milvane par majboor ho jaati hai,” This sounds cheeky & I am an SRK fan, but perhaps, this happened with this party!
When I was about to zero in some random soft toy, we planned an unexpected trip to Mahabaleshwar (the land of strawberries and Mapro, as Mumbaikars would know it), I spotted these super cute strawberry, apple and orange soft toys and I went bonkers! This is exactly what the caterpillar ate in the story and nothing else but these could go in the favour bags. The paper bags were bags were marked with a small Thank You note and a waterproof name tag with guests’ name, which later on became a bag tag for them. 🙂
Thank you Anu for doing for putting the name tag to the right use!
SRK thing happened with Birthday girl’s dress too! What else will you call it when H’s aunt in Australia sends her a dress that has butterfly wings at the back! And she was clueless about the party and I couldn’t have found a better dress my girl!
There were no big games but we had some quick questions for parents about the story, after all they had watched the movie. The winners got some cool gifts and so did the Birthday girl, which were packed in the same big box and brought to Mumbai Delhi 🙂
So, amid lots of fun, food, dancing and posing, we celebrated Hiya’s 2nd Birthday with her favourite Caterpillar.
