While the search for the maid is still on, I couldn’t stay away from writing any more. So, here’s what we did on H’s first birthday.
The birthday celebrations took place in Mysore at her grand parents house. While the BIG party was on the 20th, we had a ‘Smash Cake Party’ on 18th April, the day when H was born an year back.
To be honest, I was more excited about this one as it was THE DAY, I had been waiting for all through the year.
So, here’s what I did for my little H’s First Birthday…
Once again, inability to go shop-hopping, I went DIY way to make this ‘Hand-Painted First Birthday T-Shirt’ for my birthday girl. It reads: Look Who’s 1 – HIYA!
The skirt was gifted by a dear family member.
It was a Barbie Cake in colours matching with H’s dress – white, purple and silver.
Thanks, Dolphin Bakers, Mysore for doing it so well at such a short notice.
To take everyone on a trip down the memory lane, I made this ‘1-to-12 Photo Banner,’ with H’s pictures from the first month till 12th. This was a hit!
The Smash Cake
We also had a cute little smash cake that read 1.
The girl was a little hesitant to touch it initially. Apparently, she seemed surprised at the fact that mommy whose favourite word is ‘no’ everytime H touches something was happily giving her something so delicate to play with. Soon, the surprised expression changed to excitement and the cake was all over her. Even elders ended up giving cake-facial to each other and it turned out to be an evening high on fun!
Besides the photo-banner, we had purple balloons all over the place along with a big foil balloon. Bought online from here.
